[ The method of natural farming ]
In the method of natural farming, artificial manure and organic fertilizers are not used in addition to agricultural medicines, but only natural compost (dead leaves, dry grass) is used and farmers are aiming at the farming adapted to nature. And also they think and believe they would get the healthier crops by handling soil and vegetables with respect to nature.
Under the method of natural farming, environment shall be kept in good condition and safe vegetables with high nutritive value can be harvested. Besides, the tastes of the crops give their original deliciousness. Further we can have the experience to see and learn that vegetables are grown only by the natural power, and we also learn to thank the natural blessing and the holiness of life too that we receive from nature.
Not only the farmers but also anyone who would like to have vegetables at his small home garden can grow easily by the method of natural farming. This method will give tasteful life to the people leading contemporary social life away from natural atmosphere. Especially for children, the experience in the natural farming closely would warm their heart and cultivate their sensibility.
The food materials selected carefully by the farmers, who perform natural farming, are sent to the restaurant of the museum from the whole country. All the vegetables and rice are obtained by the method of natural agriculture, and seasonings such as salt, sugar, oil, liquor, vinegar, sweet sake are also almost made in this way. We all the staff members are offering hearty food for our museum visitors to enjoy not only art in the museum but also the art of farming in the restaurant.
