Access

From Tokyo To JR Kyoto Station

In the case of your trip from Tokyo, the best way is taking on the JR Tokaido-Shinkansen Line to JR Kyoto station. (about 3 hours) Then, change the line for JR Biwako Line to Ishiyama station, and get on the Teisan Bus bound for MIHO MUSEUM.


From JR Kyoto Station to JR Ishiyama Station

Board the JR Biwako Line bound for Nagahama or Maibara at Platform No.2 of JR Kyoto Station and get off at JR Ishiyama Station. (It takes about 13 minutes from Kyoto) Both Local [futu] and Special Rapid Service train [shin-kaisoku] are available.

From JR Ishiyama Station to the MIHO MUSEUM

Upon exiting the JR Ishiyama Station through the turnstile, please turn right (south) and take the first flight of stairs to your left. These stairs will take you to the Bus Terminal located in the East Square.
At Bus Lane #3, please board Teisan bus No. 150, which will take you to the MIHO MUSEUM. (Teisan is the name of bus company)

It takes about 50 minutes from Ishiyama Station to the Miho Museum.

The fare to MIHO MUSEUM is 820Yen. Please put the coins into the fare box next to the bus driver when you get off. You can get your money changed by the money changing machine beside the bus driver (1,000Yen 500Yen 100Yen).

Notice: This bus is only available during the Miho Museum's Spring, Summer, and Autumn seasons.
