2007 Agency for Cultural Affairs’ Project for the Arts
Instructor  : Chappy Okamoto (Visual consultant, designer, and Kaburimono artist)
For children age five and above (family members or guardians welcome)
July 21 (Sat.) and 25 (Wed.) from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. and  from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m.
Limited to 20 participants per session.
Material fee : 300 yen
Make a unique hat, inspired by early works of art. Participants will color pre-designed cutouts to create their original hat and be photographed wearing them.

Stamp Making — Create your one-and-only stamp in the world!

Saturday, July 28, 2007 from 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 pm.
Limited to 15 participants.
Materials fee :
1000 yen
Participants will be asked to draw a face from an artwork and carve their own original stamp.

Pinhole Cameras Experience the slow exposure of the original camera.

Learn how to construct a pinhole camera and take photos of buildings and nature with it. Experience the slow flow of time using this camera.

Let’s Make a Small Relief

For 5th and 6th-grade elementary students.
Sunday, August 12, 2007 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Limited to 10 participants.
Material fee : 500 yen
This program involves making small reliefs, after looking at ancient Egyptian art.


The Children’s Atelier
“The Children’s Atelier” is a crafts-making program held on every second Sunday of the month. After viewing the galleries, children of various ages can enjoy expressing themselves by creating their own work of art. Activities using the five senses will be organized for preschoolers.      ----- Making original floral motifs with 3rd and 4th-grade elementary students.
  Dec. 9 (Sun.) Ancient Egyptian Reliefs
-----Making small reliefs with 5th and 6th-grade elementary students.
